Santorini: Sunset Oia Cruise

So many of our friends have either booked trips or have visited Santorini since we went last June & naturally it brings back a flood of memories from our trip! We've been m.i.a here, so what better way to pick back up than by starting with one of our all time favorite vacations: Greece, but more specifically, Santorini (& soon, Mykonos!).

In our last post, about Santorini, we focused on arriving in Oia, our amazing home while visiting (Canaves Oia) and our dinner at one of the best spots in Oia to catch the sunset (Kastro Oia). We wanted to dive in a little bit more on what we did & where we ate during our stay so if you're planning a trip to Santorini, and more specifically, Oia, you have an idea what to do and where to eat throughout your stay!

After a delicious meal & the most stunning sunset that we will ever see at Kastro Oia, we headed back to Canaves, grabbed a night cap & then headed to bed. The following morning we enjoyed breakfast on our private deck overlooking the contrast of the white buildings off of the various blue hues of the Aegean Sea before heading up to the meeting point for our first adventure in Oia.

We had booked a morning tour on a semi-private excursion with Sunset Oia (the Diamond Cruise). This was a 5-hour cruise taking off from the Amoudi Port, however the company picks you up right across the street from the hotel & transport you and your party to the port for departure. We waited on the docks to be called to the correct boat & then we boarded. After a quick safety briefing, the boat was ours & we immediately migrated to the front to layout on the over-water hammocks. Soon after leaving the dock the staff came around with drinks and snacks and we were off to our first destination, the natural hot springs and mud bath. We spent a little less than an hour here - you can choose if you want to stay on the boat of swim off and explore. Half of our group went off the boat while others stayed on...insider tip - the sulfur from the hot springs can cause discoloring to your bathing suite so if you know you're going to book this excursion...pack accordingly! Once all guests were

more time at White Beach where the staff grilled up a nice lunch while we snorkeled around the area looking at local fish, coral & many different reefs we were floating over. We spent the remaining duration of the cruise in this area before packing up and pulling into Amoudi Post where we de-boarded & were transported by van back to Oia.

After a day in the sun & on the a few drinks on board, we spent the evening pool side at the hotel, ordered food to our lounge chairs & called it a day.
